July 9th The live bait trolling is really good right now. We are catching allot of nice king fish and cobia. The kings are always the most abundant and are eager to provide plenty of drag screaming rod bending action. The barracuda have been around to also keep the rods bent and are eager to eat a struggling king. The bottom fishing did shut down a few days after my last report but the snapper and amber jacks are biting fairly decent right now. We have caught a few nice grouper in the last couple trips. Hopefully the bottom fishing will continue to improve but for the fastest action the live bait trolling cant be beat. Here recently we have been live bait trolling just a few miles from the inlet. The fish being that close provides for plenty of fishing time because of the short boat ride. The kings have been 10lbs to 35lbs plus cobias, barracudas and jack cravalle, sharks and the occasional tarpon. The nightly shark fishing has very good. We are catching black tips, spinner, nurse and lemon sharks.
